SUMMER 2024

Body, Mind and Soul RETREAT from July 9 - 15, 2024

Instagram @AlpineTimeOut

Join me in my stomping ground Tirol, Austria, on the beautiful and sacred grounds of Kronburg, the little Pilgrimage enclave in the Alpine mountains, home to a beautiful small church, Maria Hilf, a “Gasthaus” and once a cloister, now houses, guests and seminarians all year. Kronburg is on the route of the “Way of St. James” (Camino de Santiago).

A short hike leads to the historic ruin of Kronburg at the top of the mountain, visibly lit at night and can be seen miles away. Also on the grounds are a farm house, an old rectory and an old barn that has been converted into an art gallery displaying work from local artists. There is also a “kneipp” (hydrotherapy) facility surrounded by a rose labyrinth and garden. The location is ideal for short or longer hikes to the surrounding forest, panoramic views of the Inn Valley, a walk to waterfalls, a castle and a natural lake for swimming.

Here is what is included:

1. Single room with private bathroom (Doubles and Suites are also available)

2. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner — all food locally farmed and seasonal, organic produce

(vegetarian options available).

3. Daily yoga, breath-work and fascia maneuvers, meditation and forest bathing. Use of “kneipp”

hydrotherapy facility surrounded by rose labyrinth

4. Hikes in the Tirolean alps, the ruin of Kronburg, areal viewing spots, waterfalls as well as an

alpine lake with the option to go for a swim.

5. One body work treatment by an experienced bodyworker in the *EMMETT Technique (with

option to book additional treatments)

6. Parking and WIFI

Earlybird discount until FEBRUARY 1st!

TESTIMONIALS

Word on the Street

"Alex is the best yoga teacher my wife and I have found in 20 years of practice - she's incredibly physical and inventive in her approach. Unless you've been extremely lucky you've probably never worked in such an unexpected and effective form. She's a delightful person as well."
T.G.

I have been a devoted student of Alex’s since 2016, practicing weekly. Alex keeps things moving, engaging and fun, and has a gift for encouraging you both to challenge yourself and to find the right modification when you need it. She is grounded, wise, calm and strong, and her classes are my weekly meditation. I always feel grounded, centered and strong when I get off the mat. I particularly appreciate her focus on the core: I had a back injury last year, and the physical therapist said I recovered so quickly because I have a relatively strong core - that is not something anyone has ever said about me, even before I had three children! I credit Alex for that and for keeping me sane through the pandemic. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

The most positive thing about Covid , Alex's yoga lessons are online now and so I'm able to practice with her although I'm abroad!
I like her guidance through the lessons. There are always options for every level and /or day. Her classes are  spiritual, dynamic, demanding and it's a great workout for your inner core you get reminded gentle.
Alex's yoga lessons make you fell strong and flexible but also inspired by her beautiful words.
I always loved and appriciated her little massage at the end of the Savasana, so if you have the opportunity to join a live class of Alex once, I can warmly recommend it.
Knowing what to expect in the end is worth to endure!

“I have been practicing yoga every week for 10 years and Alex is one of the instructors I’ve had. She always comes with new ideas tailored to my needs, thoughtful words to meditate on, and a beautiful spirit that is hers. I end each session feeling physically strong, full of clarity and peace. Alex is a major contributor to my well being.”

“Alex’s Baby & Me yoga class absolutely MADE my maternity leave. I looked forward to the jaunt to her class every week knowing that I would get a centering and challenging workout without missing a second away from my new baby, that I would likely meet some neighborhood mom friends and that if my daughter was having an especially fussy day, Alex would swoop her up during class and walk around with her giving me a much needed moment to myself. Also, babies loooooove Alex. It's a fact.”

Mommy&Baby Yoga
Yoga-wise, Alex's class is challenging but without being rigid, class-goers are encouraged to practice positions the way they are used to and, of course, comfort and breastfeed the little ones as needed. The last 20 minutes of class, attention is brought to the babies with a few cute (but not cheesy!) songs and exercises that use the baby as weight resistance. She'll usually throw in a few really helpful tips from baby massage to helping with a gassy belly to encouraging words about infant sleep. My only complaint is that her class isn't offered on a weekday for moms that have to go back to work...hopefully someday soon!

After an extremely stressful week, Alex's prenatal yoga class helped me feel so calm and present. I was able to get a great workout and feel more deeply connected to my baby. Alex is down-to-earth and exudes peace and love. I would so highly recommend her yoga class to anyone--even if you're not pregnant! 💜💜💜
H.S.

I love practicing yoga with Alex because her classes are always different. She tries to see what her students want to explore on a given day, and tailor the class accordingly.  Alex is very knowledgeable about the human body-spirit connection, and so thoughtful and kind. She gives plenty of options for every pose, so you can generate some heat, or take it nice and slow. Either way, your deep core will become much stronger, and your triceps will have a much better shape :) I have been so blessed to have Alex in my living room via Zoom during the pandemic, although I do miss her neck massages at the end of the class!
